About Vertex Standard

Land Mobile Radios are the backbone of the new information-based society. The social infrastructure supporting our daily lives is changing and with it, quick and precise methods of communication as well as highly reliable communication tools are becoming increasingly necessary. We will continue to contribute to this infrastructure by providing the most advanced state-of-the-art communications equipment.

Our land mobile products are used in areas that require the highest degree of reliability and functionality. They are used for example in public safety agencies such as the police, fire and highway patrol departments and in national government research agencies such as NASA. Another prime example at the national level where our products are used because reliable communication is essential is the U.S. military. We offer total system solutions to the world's public safety markets and our broad lineup of products, ranging from base repeaters to utility and mobile transceivers, all meet the strictest of national or regional standards. Our products have cleared the U.S. Department of Defense MIL810 standard, the IS (Intrinsically Safe) standard for use in emergency situations, and the ETIS standard in Europe.

In markets around the world, we offer a wide range of products including small area communication systems, MCA, and general commercial use radios. We present total communication solutions to varying types of needs and situations. Monitor Worker Safety
As with all Vertex Standard radios, the VX-450 series includes built-in Emergency and Lone Worker alerts. Emergency notification is user-initiated with a press of a button for the radio to switch to a designated channel and send an alert for help. Lone Worker mode is a built-in timer that requires the user to reset at a predetermined interval. If not reset, the radio automatically switches to Emergency mode to alert help.

When constant contact is required at all times, Vertex Standard’s exclusive Auto-Range Transpond System (ARTS™) is included to inform the user that other ARTS™- equipped radios are within communication range.
No two job sites are alike and the optional Man Down function (with DVS-9 unit) is programmable to monitor a variety of worker timed safety scenarios vertically and horizontally as well as worker degree of motion. Adjusting the settings of the 3-axis sensor adapts the radio to each distinct work environment to monitor movement.

Dual-Purpose Repeater for Efficient Communications

The VXR-7000 not only helps expand communication range, but it also serves as a base station for convenient, easy fleet communications in public safety, industrial or administrative work areas. Continuous-duty and cycle-rated.
Convert To Talk At A Press Of A Button
Can immediately switch to function from repeater mode to base station mode simply by pressing the Push To Talk transmit button. Once released, the unit converts back to repeater mode.
Local or Remote Operating Capability
Controlled by the operator with a press of a button, the VXR-7000 is designed to function as programmed. Or, switch to remote mode and the unit is controlled by instructions received from an external device connected to the accessory connector.
When Safety Counts
Has DTMF decoding built-in to coordinate with the Emergency and ANI functions found in Vertex Standard mobile and portable two-way radios. If an Emergency alert is received from a mobile or portable radio, the VXR-7000 will beep loudly and blink the LCD to notify the dispatcher of the emergency alert.
Uninterrupted Power Supply
For uninterrupted operation during power failures, a 12-volt rechargeable battery may be connected. During a power outage, the automatic power control circuit will immediately switch the repeater to the backup battery.

Power Supply Backup With Alert
Should DC power fail at the repeater site, the VXR-9000 will automatically revert to a backup DC power source if connected. Under backup DC power, the repeater will transmit an alert message to notify the operator that immediate attention is required at the repeater site.
Designed For High Reliability
The cooling fan diameter is 3+ inches and thermostatically controlled to ensure a stable temperature environment. Fan operation may be programmed for three options: off, continuous or temperature-controlled, depending on the application. A malfunction alarm is also included.
Flexible, Automatic Command Sequence Configuration
May be programmed to perform a five-step sequence of commands for certain operating events. For example, during a DC power failure when the repeater switches to a backup power supply, the repeater can be programmed to switch to low power and send a CW ID advising of the situation, etc.
